The Directorate of Research and Development at KWUST aims at; supporting and empowering staff to manage, conduct, disseminate research outputs, expanding research capacity across and in multiple disciplines, developing research and publication culture and facilitating commercialization of research and development outputs. The support extends to research time and funds.
Some research areas that have been and are being prioritized include; Computer Science, Culture and Material Science, Social Sciences and Humanities, ICT, Mathematics, Statistics and Education. All research done at KWUST is guided by the Research and Development Policy of the University.
Our staff have participated and presented in local and international conferences. They have also published widely in peer reviewed journals of international repute. To enhance research, workshops on research have been conducted within the university and in fact our staffs continue to research as individuals or in collaboration across disciplines or in multidiscipline at local as well as international levels.
