Message from the Librarian

KWUST has established a postmodern library that occupies the entire first floor of the Vision house. It has a campus library at Pamstech house in Westlands.

The library subscribes to print and electronic materials (e-books and e- journals). The holding is now over four thousand and five hundred thousand books (4,500) in volume some print journals and magazines. The literature type is taught subject oriented and motivational literature including reference information.

The library has an integrated system which provides a simple and clear interface for Library users to perform tasks such as circulation, searching and reserving items. Another facility worth mentioning is the Digital Library facilitated with computers for those wishing to research through the internet or search for information on assignments.

Also there are several databases that support student and staff on their topical research work. The library staff inducts students & other users on library organization and information retrieval skills (including online access). This is done every semester during students’ orientation. The aim is to make library users maximize on the use of library resources without much aid from staff. Annually, about two thousands (2000) girls are inducted making them legible for using the library independently. In addition the library has established a Digital Institution Repository database that contains the holding on intellectual work and other University archives.

The Mission of the library is to provide quality information that empowers the University in carrying out its core activities of teaching, learning, research and community services to highest level.

Welcome to the Library
