Program Overview
The diploma programme is designed to provide students with an extensive and in-depth understanding of business practices. Its primary objective is to increase, enrich and bank upon business knowledge acquired at certificate level. The programme largely targets mid-career persons. In other words it aims to meet the needs of people with work experience in business, NGO's or government who wish to enhance their skills in functional areas of administration. Students that pursue this course can thus relate theoretical knowledge gained at KWUST with professional work experience and set-up. The programme thus allows flexibility and dynamism. On successful completion of the course, career advancement avenues will be created for the diploma holders.
Duration
The Diploma Program in Business Administration takes a duration of 1 year consisting of 720 hours (12 credit hours).
Course Details
There are a total of 12 units to be fully covered and completed for Diploma Award. Students will be required to pursue 6 units in Part I and the remaining 6 units in Part II. The following table provides a summary:-

Admission Requirements
Direct Entrants:
Although the Diploma Program in Business Administration is basically designed for mid-career entrants, entry is also open to KCSE graduates.
In all cases, the applicant should have attained any of the following:-

Applicants should have 2 years working experience in the relevant area of study.
Completion of the Diploma Program in Business Administration will exempt students 1 (one) year in the Degree Program in Business Administration at KWUST.
Entry into the Program is competitive. Possession of the minimum admission requirement does not guarantee admission into the Program for either local or foreign applicants.
Fee Structure
Kshs.85,000/= for entire course.
Program Commencement
The Business Administration programme runs on a session basis. There shall be 3 intakes in a year – January, June and September.
Timings
There shall be daytime and evening classes on weekdays and on Saturday. Daytime classes will be held in the morning from 8am to 12noon and in the afternoon from 2pm to 5pm. Evening classes shall be held from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
